They are in the bag

28th April 2025 – Kneller Gardens

We were called out to abandoned ducklings on the Crane River in Kneller Gardens. Dorian had been watching them for some time and no sign of their mother. It is quite common for female ducks to be harrassed by males once they have hatched their eggs but in this case anything may have happened to her. So we attended and Sally and Lisa donned their waders having been assured the river was ‘not too deep’. 90 minutes later and our team now soaked through the ducklings were all safe and sound in Dorian’s bag, who had kindly waited to help for the duration of the maneouvres. The youngsters have now been added to the considerable collection back at the Swan Sanctuary.
